Publishing … And Other Forms Of Insanity

There may be something about the last month of the 12 months that conjures up deadlines. December boasts of no fewer than forty-five free writing contests, encompassing a broad range of kinds and genres. There are prizes this month for printed books, for unpublished manuscripts, for poetry, quick tales, essays, memoirs, mysteries, and nonfiction.

None of these competitions cost an entry payment. The Schneider Family Book Award is sponsored by the American Library Association. The award honors a creator or illustrator for an e-book that embodies a creative expression of the incapacity expertise for baby and adolescent audiences. 5000 and a framed plaque will be given yearly in each of the next classes: start through grade faculty (age 0-10), center school (age 11-13), and teens (age 13-18). (Age groupings are approximations). Genre: May be fiction, biography, or other type of nonfiction.
